Oil Tempered Chrome Silicon – Valve Spring Quality

Referred to as Chrome Silicon Valve Spring quality wire, these materials are designed for springs that must withstand considerable shock and extreme heat. It has rigorous surface quality standards which are outlined in the specification. Usually the Rod has been surfaced prepared prior to initial drawing to discover and correct any surface imperfections. Chrome silicon can be used at temperatures up to 500 F higher than chrome vanadium. Valve spring quality chrome silicon has been eddy current tested to assure the finest possible surface in keeping with automotive industry requirements.
